The invention discloses an outer wall thermal insulation material, which is composed of the following components in parts by weight: 30 to 60 parts of polystyrene particles, 20 to 50 parts of expanded perlite, 35 to 85 parts of sodium silicate, 10 to 40 parts of lithium based bentonite, 5 to 25 parts of calcined kaolin, 3 to 10 parts of calcium carbonate, and 3 to 15 parts of flame retardant. Compared with the conventional outer wall construction materials, the provided material has a better thermal insulation performance and better solidifying performance, will not fall off from the walls easily, and thus is worthy to promote and use.
