The present invention relates to glazing having switchable optical properties, at least comprising: a transparent substrate (1) having an outer surface (I) and an inner surface (II), a reflection layer (2) on the outer surface (I) and/or on the inner surface (II) and a switchable functional element (3) arranged on the interior side with respect to the reflection layer (2), wherein the reflection layer (2) contains a material having a refractive index n R of 1.6 to 2.5, and wherein the product of the refractive index n R and the thickness d of the reflection layer (2) is from 250 nm to 960 nm.
