The invention discloses a microwave dielectric ceramic with medium dielectric constant and low loss. The ceramic has a composition expression of Zr (1-x) (Mg1/3Nb2/3) xTiO4+ywt%MnCO3, wherein x and y satisfy the relations of: 0.325<=x<=0.4, 0.2<=y<=0.5, and y represents the mass percentage of MnCO3 in the Zr (1-x) (Mg1/3Nb2/3) xTiO4. The invention also provides a preparation method of the microwave dielectric ceramic with medium dielectric constant and low loss. The microwave dielectric ceramic with medium dielectric constant and low loss has the advanategs of low sintering temperature, high relative permittivity and quality factor, and resonant frequency close to zero; and the ceramic can be used as a dielectric material such as RF multilayer ceramic capacitor, chip microwave dielectric resonator or filter, ceramic antenna and multi chip module.
