The invention discloses a stand column used for a fence. The side surface of the stand column is connected with the end parts of the cross bars of the fence; the main body of the stand column is hollow; the surface of the stand column is provided with a coating layer; the left side surface and the right side surface are both provided with mounting hole groups; the mounting hole group on the left side surface of the stand column and the mounting hole group on the right side surface of the stand column are staggered; each mounting hole group comprises two mounting holes; the mounting holes are connected with the end parts of the cross bars; the front side of the stand column is provided with fixed holes; the positions of the fixed holes correspond to the positions of the mounting holes; the end parts of the cross bars are fixedly arranged in the stand column via connecting pieces by the fixed holes; the top of the stand column is provided with a protective cap; the inner side of the bottom of the protective cap is provided with a bulge; the bulge is clamped on two sides of the top end of the stand column; the protective cap is of a halfpace shape; each side edge of the halfpace is a fillet edge. The stand column has the advantages of long service life and small welding workload, and the fence can be installed and used on a horizontal ground and also can be used under the environment of a gradient.
