The invention discloses ferrous aluminate cement and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the field of construction materials. The ferrous aluminate cement is prepared from the following constituents in mass percent: (1) 60.0-80.0% of a ferrous aluminate cement clinker, (2) 1.0-5.0% of nanometer zirconia, (3) 2.0-5.0% of rare earth oxide, (4) 5.0-20.0% of ferrophosphorus slag or ferrosilicon slag, (5) 5.0-15.0% of zinc-tin tailings, and (6) 2.5-5.0% of gypsum. The preparation method of the ferrous aluminate cement comprises the following steps: (1) preparing the materials, (2) crushing the materials, and (3) grinding the crushed materials into powder. The ferrous aluminate cement provided by the invention has the characteristics of quick setting rate and high early strength, is stable in chemical property, certain in decay resistance and antifreezing performance and capable of being used under different occasions, and can be used as an ideal special cement material.
