The invention provides rapid hardening Portland cement and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the field of building materials. The rapid hardening Portland cement comprises the following components in percent by mass: (1) 60.0-75.0 percent of a Portland cement clinker; (2) 3.0-10.0 percent of salty mud; (3) 3.0-10.0 percent of magnesium slag; (4) 3.0-10.0 percent of brick and tile powder; (5) 3.0-10.0 percent of waste casting sand; (6) 2.0-5.0 percent of a coagulating agent; (7) 2.5-5.0 percent of gypsum. The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) material preparation; (2) crushing; (3) pre-mixing; (4) power grinding. The rapid hardening Portland cement provided by the invention has the characteristics of being quick in hardening rate, high in early strength and stable in long-term strength;, s a variety of wastes are effectively utilized, so that the preparation method is a relatively ideal resource recycling mode.
