The invention discloses a self-lifting counterweight excavator, relates to excavators, and aims to solve the problems of complex structure and poor operability of an existing excavator counterweight self-lifting system. A suspension arm and a suspension arm cylinder are hinged to the tail of a rotating platform, the other end of the suspension arm cylinder is hinged to the suspension arm, and expansion of the suspension arm cylinder pushes the suspension arm to rotate around a hinging point of the suspension arm and the rotating platform. The excavator comprises an auxiliary arm and an auxiliary arm cylinder, one end of the auxiliary arm is hinged to a free end of the suspension arm cylinder hinged to the suspension arm, the auxiliary arm cylinder is connected between the auxiliary arm and the suspension arm to push the auxiliary arm to rotate around a free end of the suspension arm, a lifting ring is additionally arranged at the free end of the auxiliary arm and connected with a counterweight through a chain, and the auxiliary arm cylinder and the suspension arm cylinder are connected with a power system and a hydraulic oil tank through control valves.
