The invention belongs to the field of chemical building materials, and particularly to a high-alkali cement grinding aid and a preparation method thereof. In the prior art, high-alkali cement is subjected to rapid hydration at the early stage so as to cause easy concrete cracking at the early stage, not high concrete strength at the later stage, and the like. The technical problem solved by the present invention is to provide a high-alkali cement grinding aid so as to improve the problems in the prior art. The high-alkali cement grinding aid comprises, by weight, 80-95% of a grinding aid component, 1-10% of a gel crystal seed improver, and 0.5-10% of an auxiliary agent, wherein the grinding aid component is an alcohol amine grinding aid, and the gel crystal seed improver is a C-S-H gel crystal seed improver. According to the present invention, the cement specific surface area can be increased by 11-25 m<2>/Kg in the same grinding time, the 45 [mu]m screen residue is reduced by 3-6%, the coagulation time is prolonged by 20-30 min, the shrinkage rate is less than 0.006%, and the 28 d cement mortar strength is increased by 10-15%.
