The invention discloses a silicon carbide ceramic with excellent wear resistance and high hardness. The silicon carbide ceramic is prepared form following raw materials, by weight, 70 to 85 parts of silicon carbide, 5 to 7 parts of diatomite powder, 3 to 4 parts of boron powder, 2 to 3 parts of polyvinyl chloride, 5 to 6 parts of titanium carbide, 1 to 2 parts of barium stearate, 15 to 20 parts of absolute ethyl alcohol, 10 to 13 parts of a short carbon fiber pre-dispersed material, 3 to 4 parts of a sintering aid, and 80 to 90 parts of deionized water. According to the preparation method, short carbon fiber is added so as to improve mechanical properties of silicon carbide, improve breaking tenacity of ceramic, improve strength and compactness of ceramic biscuit, and satisfy mechanical processing requirements; boron powder is added so as to increase compactness of the silicon carbide ceramic, reduce material loss, and increase finished product yield; silicon carbide is added so as to improve wear resistance of ceramic further; the preparation method is simple; the raw materials are easily available; hardness and wear resistance of the silicon carbide ceramic are improved obviously; and application range of the silicon carbide ceramic is extended.
