The present invention relates to an animal waste handling apparatus and a handling method thereof. The apparatus includes an elongated shaft having a first end and a second end; a handle associated with the first end; a collection device associated with the second end, and the collection device is used to collect animal wastes; an actuator associated with the handle and operably coupled to the collection device; the actuator actuates the collection device in an opening state and thereby collecting animal wastes, and the actuator actuates the collection device in a closed state and thereby closing animal wastes; a latching device associated with the handle and operably coupled to the actuator; the latching device may be configured to retain the collection device in an opening position or a closed position. The animal waste handling apparatus is characterized of simple structure, easy to carry, convenient to handle animal wastes and the like.
