The invention relates to a glass tile prepared from laterite. The glass tile billet is composed of laterite, sintered kaolin, potash feldspar, quartz, fused magnesite, steel fibers, a phenolic resin, starch and rice hull. The glass tile glaze is composed of iron oxide yellow, zirconium oxide, feldspar powder, nano zinc oxide, silicon carbide, carbon fiber, tin dioxide, TEOS (tetraethyl orthosilicate) and polytetrafluoroethylene. The glass tile has the advantages of smooth and clean surface, bright color, excellent compression resistance, excellent fire resistance, excellent acid/alkali resistance, light weight, low water absorptivity, favorable air permeability and low cost.
