The invention provides a soilless cover material for sanitary landfill of solid waste garbage. The soilless cover material for sanitary landfill of the solid waste garbage comprises components with parts by weight: water-soluble cellulose polymers 2-25 parts, plant fibers 20-100 parts, clay 10-100 parts, gypsum 5-50 parts and water 500-3000 parts, wherein the water-soluble cellulose polymers is an ionic type, and the plant fibers are an expanded type. The soilless cover material for sanitary landfill of the solid waste garbage is degradable, is about 5%-10% in water penetration rate, also has a certain amount of water permeability, and has great promotion effect for breeding of garbage natural degradation bacteria.
