The invention relates to a preparation method of zirconium oxide ceramic for an oxygen sensor. The preparation method comprises the following steps: firstly, adding nano aluminum oxide powder into yttrium-oxide-stabilized zirconium oxide ceramic; then, adding a dispersant and a solvent, and carrying out wet milling to uniformly mix the dispersant and the solvent; further adding a binder, a plasticizer and a solvent to further carry out ball milling, thereby obtaining tape casting slurry, wherein the slurry is formed by tape casting to obtain a ceramic green body for manufacturing the oxygen sensor. The zirconium oxide ceramic, with good comprehensive performance, especially suitable for the oxygen sensor is prepared, so that cracks generated due to mechanical impact and temperature impact are effectively avoided, the sintering temperature is reduced, and the energy resources are reduced.
