The invention relates to a novel drilling rod gripper which comprises a movable connecting small arm assembly, a rotating driver assembly, a connector assembly, a gripper grip assembly and a spiral drill assembly. One end of the movable connecting small arm assembly is connected with a digging arm of a digger, the other end of the movable connecting small arm assembly is connected with the gripper grip assembly through the rotating driver assembly and the connector assembly, and the spiral drill assembly is mounted in the middle of the connecting small arm assembly. The novel drilling rod gripper can finish various construction procedures such as drilling, rod gripping and rod inserting, achieves multiple functions, can adapt to construction of special places such as a field and a mountain ridge and is high in construction efficiency.
