The invention discloses an alumina-fiber-enhanced zirconium boride ceramic-based composite material and a preparation method thereof. The material is characterized in that the material is prepared from the raw materials of, by weight, 10-13 parts of gypsum, 60-80 parts of zirconium boride, 4-6 parts of silica, 10-14 parts of modified alumina fiber, 0.02-0.04 parts of cyclohexanone peroxide, 4-6 parts of hydroxypropyl acrylate, 3-4 parts of diatomaceous earth, 0.3-0.5 parts of vinyl triethoxysilane, 1-3 parts of sodium lignosulfonate, 20-30 parts of ethanol, and 40-50 parts of deionized water. According to the invention, the added alumina fiber processed through an antioxidant treatment is adopted as an enhancing phase of ceramic, and has the characteristics of enhancing the toughness, mechanical performances, wear resistance, hardness and high-temperature resistance of ceramic. With the added gypsum, ceramic setting property, water absorption property and processability are enhanced. With the added diatomaceous earth, ceramic strength and toughness are enhanced, and ceramic performances such as hardness and elastic modulus are improved.
