The invention relates to a low-density ceramic fracturing propping agent prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 70-85 parts of kaolin, 8-20 parts of rice plant hulls and 5-15 parts of a ceramic additive, wherein the rice plant hulls are subjected to anaerobic carbonization treatment. The invention further relates to a preparation method of the low-density ceramic fracturing propping agent. The low-density ceramic fracturing propping agent has the advantages of low cost, low volume density, low apparent density, high flow conductivity and strong crush resistance. The preparation method of the low-density ceramic fracturing propping agent has the advantages of low firing temperature, low production cost and simple process and therefore is easy to popularize.
