The present invention relates to the technical field of a mortar adding chemical agent, and in particular relates to a building mortar efficient thickener. The building mortar efficient thickener comprises the following components by weight: 10-30 parts of sodium lignin sulfonate, 20-30 parts of polyethylene glycol, 10-30 parts of fly ash, 10-30 parts of phosphorus slag powder, and 6-12 parts of propyl methyl cellulose ether. The purpose of the present invention is to provide the building mortar efficient thickener which is simple in method for preparing, and ideal in mortar workability.
