The invention relates to a method for preparing a ZnO voltage-sensitive ceramic rheostat by adopting a compound additive, and belongs to the technical field of functional ceramic material preparation. The method comprises the following main process steps: A, compound additive preparation: (a) compounding and ball milling, (b) spray drying, (c) calcination compounding, (d) smashing, (e) planetary ball milling, and (f) drying and smashing; B mixing of the compound additive and ZnO to prepare the voltage-sensitive ceramic rheostat. The method can be used for preparing the compound additive which is used for the ZnO voltage-sensitive ceramic rheostat and is uniform and stable in component mixing, and ZnO voltage-sensitive ceramics with excellent performance. The compound additive and the ZnO voltage-sensitive ceramic rheostat, prepared by the process, have important application in electronic circuits and electrical power systems.
