The invention discloses a blocking dam for debris flow river channel protection and a construction method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of water conservancy and hydropower engineering building design and construction. According to the blocking dam for the debris flow river channel protection and the construction method thereof, a large amount of damage to an original river channel and channel foundations cannot be generated in construction, and the requirements for the river channel and the channel foundations are not high. The blocking dam comprises a dam body, a protection apron and revetment barricades; the dam body is composed of multiple regular masonry bodies, and each masonry body is a water permeable body containing a filtration system. The construction method comprises the steps that firstly, latticed regular cage bodies are made according to an arrangement drawing, and water permeable enrockment bodies are filled in the river channel needing to construct the blocking dam and leveled; secondly, the regular cage bodies are sequentially arranged on the water permeable enrockment bodies which are qualified in levelling from inside to outside and from bottom to top to form the dam body; thirdly, the protection apron is constructed on the downstream side of the dam body, and the revetment barricades are constructed on the two sides of the protection apron until the construction work of the whole blocking dam is completed.
