The invention discloses a hinge assembly and a refrigerator. The hinge assembly is used for allowing a box body and a door body of a cabinet to be connected. The hinge assembly comprises a hinge mount, a hinge shaft, a limiting body, a hinge shaft sleeve and limiting columns, wherein the hinge mount is used for being connected with the box body; the hinge shaft and the limiting body are arranged on the hinge mount; the hinge shaft sleeve is used for being fixedly connected with the door body. The hinge shaft is sleeved with the hinge shaft sleeve, and the hinge shaft sleeve can rotate relative to the hinge shaft. The peripheral surface of the limiting body is provided with a first groove and a second groove allowing the limiting columns to be clamped in a matched mode. When the hinge shaft sleeve rotates relative to the hinge shaft, the limiting columns slide relatively along the peripheral surface of the limiting body. Moreover, when the limiting columns are clamped in the first groove, the door body is limited at the closed position relative to the box body. When the limiting columns are clamped in the second groove, the door body is limited at the opened position relative to the box body at a first preset angle.
