The invention discloses polycrystalline ceramics, a production thereof, and uses thereof. The invention relates to polycrystalline ceramics having specifically set scattering power. For this purpose, the polycrystalline ceramic comprises an optoceramic phase and a pore phase, wherein the polycrystalline ceramic has a diffuse reflectance of at least 70% for a wavelength of 600 nm and a specimen thickness of 1 mm. The invention further relates to a method for producing such ceramics and uses of such ceramics.
