The invention provides a method for long-distance water diversion by means of a river channel and pipelines. The method comprises the steps that water is obtained from a river-channel section with the altitude higher than a water reception highland, the closed water diversion pipelines are utilized to be communicated to a river low point which is nearest from the water reception highland along the river channel, and then the pipelines are lifted to the ground and led to the water reception highland. According to the method for the long-distance water diversion by means of the river channel and the pipelines, the river fall and the pipeline constraining force are used for the water diversion, and energy does not need to be consumed. The pipelines are laid along the river channel, so that the engineering construction amount, the engineering difficulty and the cost are all very low; a water point and a water outlet of each water diversion pipeline are each provided with an interruption valve, and a drainage pipeline and a stop valve are additionally installed on the lowest point of the whole course, so that starting, interruption and stopping of the pipeline water diversion process are very convenient and easy to carry out; clear water of the upstream of the Yellow River in Qinghai and Gansu can be directly led to the loess plateau, and especially important significance is achieved for implementing the engineering of diverting water from the Yellow River to help people on the loess plateau and solving the problems that water drinking and using are difficult for the people on the loess plateau.
