The invention relates to an improvement of an engineering geological prospecting tool, in particular to a Luoyang shovel. The Luoyang shovel comprises a shovel knife and a weighting rod, wherein the shovel knife is cylindrical, the lower part thereof is a soil taking cylinder, and the upper part thereof is an impact cylinder; the diameter of the impact cylinder is greater than the diameter of the soil taking cylinder; an impact cylinder step is formed in the connected place of the impact cylinder and the soil taking cylinder; a shovel knife top cover is fixed at the top of the impact cylinder, and is provided with a shovel knife top cover center hole; an impact plate is arranged in the impact cylinder; a spring is arranged between the impact plate and the shovel knife top cover; the diameter of the impact plate is greater than the diameter of the soil taking cylinder and smaller than the diameter of the impact cylinder; the weighting rod penetrates through the shovel knife top cover center hole to be fixed with the impact plate; and a shovel knife bottom edge is arranged at the bottom of the soil taking cylinder. The Luoyang shovel is simple in structure, convenient for operation, low in labor intensity of operators, high in production efficiency, little in soil sample disturbance and high in soil sample extraction rate, is not liable to damage a connecting screw thread, and prolongs the service life of the Luoyang shovel.
