The invention discloses a method for producing a graphite film. The method comprises the steps of: S1, providing graphite sheets, and stacking and placing the plurality of the graphite sheets within a compartment of a work fixture; S2, placing work fixture containing the graphite sheets into a vacuum furnace, and introducing inert gas; S3, conducting high temperature vacuum sintering on the graphite sheets by a gradient mode; and S4, cooling, so that the graphite sheets form a graphite film. According to the present invention, the plurality of graphite sheets are stacked together, and prepared into one layer of graphite film by high temperature vacuum sintering in a gradient elevation of temperature mode. The invention has the advantages of high effect, production cost reduction and improvement of production efficiency.
