The invention discloses novel refractory castable which comprises the following components in parts by weight: 20-40 parts of high alumina bauxite with grain size of 0-1 mm, 10-30 parts of high alumina bauxite with grain size of 1-3 mm, 10-20 parts of high alumina bauxite with grain size of 3-5 mm, 15-25 parts of high alumina bauxite with grain size of 5-8 mm, 15-25 parts of silica micropowder, 10-35 parts of insulating aggregrate, 3-6 parts of magnesite, 4-9 parts of dolomite, 3-6 parts of sodium hexametaphosphate, 2-5 parts of tartaric acid, 1-3 parts of anti-explosion fiber, 1-3 parts of metallic aluminium powder, 1-3 parts of graphite powder, 5-10 parts of coal gangue, 5-15 parts of mullite bricks, 5-10 parts of zirconite, 3-7 parts of chromium sesquioxide, 3-12 parts of a magnesium-thorium-zirconium synthetic material and 6-15 parts of phenolic resin. The novel refractory castable disclosed by the invention has a good insulating property and good slag resistance.
