The refractory castable with excellent use performances and low production cost is prepared from vanadium iron slag, polycrystalline wastes, magnesia, aluminum ash, zircon, zirconia, yttrium oxide, tantalum carbide, zirconium boride, silicon carbide, polycrystalline mullite fibers, sodium hexametaphosphate, sodium hydroxycellulose and pure calcium aluminate cement, so the purposes of comprehensive recycling of the vanadium iron slag and the polycrystalline wastes and reduction of the production cost are achieved.
