The invention discloses a foundation pit supporting structure for a bridge main pier bearing platform on riverway abrupt slope bed rock and a construction method of the foundation pit supporting structure. The foundation pit supporting structure comprises a cofferdam built island. The foundation pit supporting structure is characterized in that a steel sheet pile water stop curtain is arranged on the side, close to a riverway channel, of the cofferdam built island and is composed of multiple steel sheet piles arranged vertically side by side; the lateral sides of the adjacent steel sheet piles are engaged to form the water stop curtain; a construction road composed of an annular gravel soil layer is arranged on the side, back on to the channel, of the steel plate pile water stop curtain; and the plane of the construction road is lower than the top face of the steel sheet pile water stop curtain, and annular reinforced concrete arch rings are arranged on the side, back on to the channel, of the construction road. Water stop and waterproofness of a foundation pit are effectively achieved, and excavation construction of the deep foundation pit of the bearing platform in water and smooth construction of the bearing platform are guaranteed; and the construction progress and quality are improved while the safety of the foundation pit is guaranteed, and the construction cost is reduced.
