The invention discloses a gelcasting method of alumina or ZTA ceramic. The method is characterized in that natural nontoxic food-grade sticky rice is adopted as a gelling agent, slurry grinding, slurry defoaming and injection molding, green body solidifying and ceramic sintering are performed, and then the alumina or ZTA ceramic is obtained. An obtained alumina or ZTA green body is uniform in structure, high in strength and good in performance. When the gelling agent accounting for 1.5-3.5% of the mass of alumina powder is added, the maximum three-point bending strength of an alumina green body reaches 9.2 MPa, and the maximum three-point bending strength of a ZTA green body reaches 6.5 MPa. The maximum three-point bending strength of alumina ceramic obtained by sintering at 1580-1670 DEG C reaches 298.5 MPa, and the maximum three-point bending strength of ZTA ceramic obtained by sintering at 1580-1670 DEG C reaches 479.3 MPa. The gelling agent used in the gelcasting method is a natural nontoxic substance with a wide source and a low price, the obtained green body and the obtained ceramic have excellent performance, the technological process is simple and environmentally friendly, and the gelcasting method is suitable for industrial production and popularization.
