The invention relates to a steel member for doors and windows. The steel member comprises a guiding part, a connecting part, a fixing part and a clamping part. The steel member is characterized in that the guiding part comprises a guiding plate and a first protrusive block and a second protrusive block which are arranged at the two ends of the guiding plate, and the direction of the first protrusive block and the second protrusive block faces to the clamping part; the connecting part comprises a first connecting rod and a second connecting rod which are located between the first protrusive block and the second protrusive block; the fixing part comprises a first fixing plate and a second fixing plate, one end of the first connecting rod and one end of the second connecting rod are connected with the guiding plate, and the other end of the first connecting rod and the other end of the second connecting rod are connected with the first fixing plate; the clamping part comprises a first clamping piece and a second clamping piece, the tail of the first clamping piece and the tail of the second clamping piece are connected with the two ends of the second fixing plate respectively, and the head of the first clamping piece and the head of the second clamping piece cross to form a cross shape.
