The invention discloses an automatic laying device for a ground wire of a power transmission line iron tower and a laying method. A pair of brackets is fixed on a bulldozing plate at the front part of a bulldozer; a ground wire coil is arranged on the bulldozing plate; a steel tube is welded at the upper side of a cab of the bulldozer; a counter for measuring the length of the passed wire rope is arranged at the part, which is exposed outside the ground, of the upper part of a deep digging plough; a guide ring is welded at the position at the middle and lower part of the rear side of the deep digging plough; and a steel strand led out from the ground wire coil passes through the steel tube and the counter at the top of the cab, and the guide ring welded at the rear part of the deep digging plough and then is led out. By the automatic laying device, excavating and back-filling two procedures are avoided; the condition of environmental damages such as water and soil loss is avoided; and the automatic laying device relatively conforms to the concept of environmental protection.
