The invention provides a foamed lightweight refractory castable and a preparation method thereof. The foamed lightweight refractory castable is composed of the following components: 1-80 parts by weight of a refractory raw material, 3-80 parts by weight of a combination raw material, 1-8 parts by weight of an auxiliary raw material, and 0.2-0.5 part by weight of a foaming agent. The preparation method of the foamed lightweight refractory castable includes: conducting weighing according to the formula; diluting a foaming agent, then adding the diluted foaming agent into a foaming machine to be foamed into qualified foams; pouring the refractory raw material, the combination raw material and sodium tripolyphosphate into a blender, and stirring the materials evenly at a low speed; adding well foamed foams and high silica fiber, then conducting high speed stirring; and adding calcium oxide powder, then performing stirring for about 20 seconds, and then conducting discharge. The foamed lightweight refractory castable provided by the invention does not adopt lightweight refractory raw material, the raw materials are abundant and easily available and are flexible to blend, the lighter unit weight the material has, the lower the cost is. Contrary to existing lightweight refractory castables' characteristics that the lighter the unit weight is, the higher the cost is, the lighter unit weight the material has, the lower the heat conductivity coefficient is, the thermal insulation effect is good, and the heat accumulation loss is small.
