The invention discloses a top descending type water blocking door. The door is characterized by comprising a door frame, a lifting type water blocking board and a driving mechanism, wherein the door frame is formed by lap joint of two stand columns and a top beam, the lifting type water blocking board stretches across the two stand columns, and the driving mechanism is used for driving the lifting type water blocking board to move up and down along the stand columns; the driving mechanism comprises a power source and two transmission components, the power source is installed on the top of the door frame and close to one stand column, each transmission component is arranged inside the corresponding stand column, and the two transmission components are in transmission connection through a synchronous shaft parallel to the top beam. Compared with traditional large underground water blocking devices, the top descending type water blocking door has the advantages that pit digging is not needed, operation is convenient, and water blocking effect is good.
