A high-purity alumina grinding ball production method belongs to the technical field of aluminum hydroxide crushing, and characterized by comprising the following preparation steps: an alumina powder raw material is sprayed with pure water, and pressed into an alumina cake material, the alumina cake material is crushed and then sieved through a 20 mesh sieve, the sieved alumina powder is poured into a coating machine, and rolled into alumina balls with the diameter of 1.5mm ~ 2 mm; the formed alumina balls are presintered, and then secondly sintered; and the secondly sintered alumina balls are sieved through a 24 mesh sieve to obtain high-purity alumina grinding balls. The sintering curve is as follows: the temperature is risen continuously to 1240 DEG C ~ 1260 DEG C from room temperature, then continuously risen to 1765 DEG C ~ 1775 DEG C, and the temperature is kept at 1765 DEG C ~ 1775 DEG C for 100min ~ 120min. The high-purity alumina grinding balls can be prepared by use of a low production cost, can be used for grinding of sapphire special powder, and is non- pollution, good in wear resistance, large in density, high in ground speed, and good in effect.
