The invention discloses a strip mine slope excavation and landslide control method. The method comprises the following specific steps that firstly, excavation is performed, wherein a slope angle, the step height, the step width and the step slope angle of slope excavation are calculated according to the slope stability calculation method, and a slope is excavated according to the parameters till the slope composed of a plurality of steps is formed; secondly, membrane coating is performed, wherein the slope of the steps formed after slope excavation and a plane are paved with a plurality of layers of geo-membranes or composite geo-membranes so that rainfall cannot permeate the slope; thirdly, backfilling is performed, wherein along with excavation, an excavated earth material with the good soil property and the satisfactory moisture content is selected for backfilling of the plane of the steps formed by former excavation; and fourthly, rolling is performed, wherein a vibration rolling method or a vibration rolling and static rolling matched rolling method is adopted for rolling the plane of the steps. According to the strip mine slope excavation and landslide control method, the soil body strength of the slope can be greatly improved, the effect of rainfall permeation on weakening the rock-soil body strength and damaging the structure is lowered, and therefore the slope stability is improved.
