The application discloses an energy-saving and environment-friendly hollow/composite building block. The building block consists of a building block housing, three rows of inner holes, two rows of outer holes and connecting ribs, wherein the hole ratio is 45-60 percent; the inner holes and the outer holes can be filled with heat insulating materials or not according to actual requirements.
