The invention discloses an aerated concrete block and a preparation method, and belongs to the field of building materials. The aerated concrete block comprises the following main materials in percentages by weight: 30 to 35 percent of fly ash, 20 to 25 percent of waste building concrete, 5 to 10 percent of waste bricks and tiles, 3 to 5 percent of waste glass, 2 to 3 percent of waste ceramic, 12 to 15 percent of cement, 12 to 15 percent of lime, 2 to 3 percent of gypsum and 0.03 to 0.05 percent of aluminium powder. The aerated concrete added with the waste building concrete, the waste bricks and tiles, the waste glass and the waste ceramic has good thermal insulation property and mechanical strength, and also overcomes the inherent defects of aerated concrete products which are easy in shrinkage, moreover, the wastes are made profitable, and the environment is protected, and the production cost is reduced as well.
