The invention discloses a method for controlling a garage roller shutter door on the basis of image analysis. The method includes arranging a coil sensing device at an underground position separated from the front of the garage roller shutter door by a preset distance threshold value, arranging a downward laying sensing infrared sensing device on the top of the garage roller shutter door and arranging a photographing device at the garage roller shutter door; photographing vehicles by the aid of the photographing device under the control when the vehicles are sensed by the coil sensing device, extracting license plate numbers, matching the license plate numbers with preset license plate numbers, opening the roller shutter door by the aid of a motor under the control at first if the license plate numbers are matched with the preset license plate numbers, then waiting for a preset time threshold value, judging whether the vehicles are available below the roller shutter door or not, waiting for the preset time threshold value again if the vehicles are available below the roller shutter door until the vehicles are unavailable below the roller shutter door, and closing the roller shutter door under the control. The photographing device is used for photographing the vehicles which enter a garage. The method has the advantages that structures are simple, the method is convenient to implement, the garage roller shutter door can be automatically opened and closed, and accordingly vehicle owners do not need to repeatedly get on and off the vehicles.
