The abrasive belt type rail polishing equipment comprises a pneumatic control system, an electrical control system, a hydraulic control system and a polishing vehicle, wherein a traction mechanism is arranged at the front end of a vehicle frame of the polishing vehicle, lifting mechanisms are arranged on the vehicle frame adopting a rectangular structure, drive mechanisms are arranged on two sides of vehicle frame, abrasive belts are arranged on drive wheels and connected with tensioning wheels of tensioning mechanisms, each abrasive belt is provided with a profiling mechanism, each profiling mechanism comprises profiling wheels, a profiling frame and profiling adjustment screws, the excircle shape of each abrasive belt and the corresponding profiling wheels is the same with that of a rail surface of each rail, the profiling wheels enable the abrasive belts to be attached to the rails under the action of a pressurization mechanism for shaping, the profiling mechanisms are connected with a pushing and butting mechanism, a pushing and butting cylinder of the pushing and butting mechanism drives a pushing and butting frame to move so as to drive the profiling mechanisms to move horizontally, and outer edges of the profiling wheels are attached to inner edges of the rails, so that the inner edges of the rails can be polished. The rail polishing equipment is simple in structure, convenient to control, high in polishing efficiency and good in shaping effect.
