The invention provides a water tunnel type tidal generator arranged at a turn of a drifting river channel (4). The water tunnel type tidal generator comprises a power machine room (1) located below and a water reservoir (2) located above, and the bottom of the water reservoir (2) is higher than a water level of the drifting river channel (4). A bottom water outlet (3) of the water reservoir (2) is connected with the drifting river channel (4) through a drain channel (5). A water intake (7) of the water reservoir (2) is communicated with the bottom of the drifting river channel (4). The water tunnel type tidal generator is applicable to artificially making waves in drifting river entertainments of water parks, creates great ornamentality during water draining, water flows to the drifting river and merges with drifting river water to make waves, and these entertainments are more interactive and interesting.
