The invention relates to a novel electronic door lock. The novel electronic door lock comprises an inner handle and an outer handle. The inner handle and the outer handle are installed on an inner panel and an outer panel respectively. The novel electronic door lock is characterized in that a ratchet wheel in linkage with a square strip is installed on the outer panel in a rotary mode, the square strip is in coaxial linkage with a lock cylinder, and the ratchet wheel is of an inner-diameter gear structure. By the adoption of the technical scheme, a clutch mechanism is added, namely a motor-lever-supporting box-movable bolted plate-ratchet wheel transmission mode is adopted, in other words, a motor drives a lever to make a lug on the movable bolted plate be inserted into a groove in a side plate of the ratchet plate, and the outer handle rotates clockwise so that the ratchet wheel can be driven to rotate through the movable bolted plate; if the lever does not drive the movable bolted plate to move towards the side plate of the ratchet wheel and the lug of the movable bolted plate is not inserted into the groove of the side plate of the ratchet wheel, the outer handle rotates clockwise in an idle mode at the moment, and clockwise rotation of the outer handle is the unlocking action; the ratchet wheel-square strip-lock cylinder action direction is achieved through the structural characteristics of the ratchet wheel and a ratchet shaft, and the locking action is achieved.
