The invention discloses an iron tailing cement column and a preparation method thereof. The iron tailing cement column comprises cement, iron tailings, river sand, pulverized coal, blast furnace slag, nano titanium dioxide, an air entraining agent, a water reducing agent and water. The preparation method comprises the following steps: (1) mixing the cement, the iron tailings, the river sand, the pulverized coal, the blast furnace slag, the nano titanium dioxide, the air entraining agent, the water reducing agent and the water to form concrete; (2) pouring the concrete into a reinforcing steel bar skeleton, and curing to obtain the iron tailing cement column. The iron tailing cement column prepared by the method has extremely high compressive strength and splitting tensile strength.
