Provided is a preparation method of a suspension insulator for a high-voltage power transmission line. The preparation method comprises the steps that all raw materials of the suspension insulator are weighed, wherein the raw materials comprise, by weight, 600-1000 parts of components A, 500-900 parts of components B, 2000-3000 parts of components C, 500-900 parts of alumina, 500-850 parts of components D, 600-1000 parts of components E, 800-1300 parts of components F and 200-500 parts of components G; then ball milling, water addition, press filt, coarse refining, drying in the shade, drying and glazing are sequentially conducted; the glazed suspension insulator is put in a shuttle kiln to be sintered; the sintered insulator is brushed with pitch and dried in the air, and the suspension insulator is obtained. The suspension insulator for the high-voltage power transmission line has the advantages that contamination flashover performance is good, suitable creepage distance is achieved, the strength is high, and the mechanical and electrical damage resistance and the self-cleaning performance are good.
