The invention discloses a T-shaped girder widening and reinforcing structure and a construction method thereof. The T-shaped girder widening and reinforcing structure comprises two steel box girders and upper steel plates, wherein the steel box girders are arranged on the two sides of a bridge in a transverse direction; the upper steel plates stick to the top surfaces of T-shaped girders of the bridge and are fixed on the two steel box girders; and flanges are arranged on both two sides of the upper parts of the steel box girders in a width direction. Therefore, the T-shaped girder bridge can be widened and reinforced, the passing performance of the bridge is improved, traffic jams are relieved, the transverse integrity of the T-shaped girder bridge is improved, the internal force born on the T-shaped girder is reduced, stress on a single girder is avoided, and the carrying capacity of the whole bridge is improved.
