The invention relates to a mechanical coded lock and a code setting method thereof. The coded lock comprises a fixing seat, mechanical coded sheets and coded sheet bearings. The coded sheet bearings are arranged in the two ends of the fixing seat. A lock cylinder open hole is formed in the center of the fixing seat. The mechanical coded sheets are arranged in the position of the lock cylinder open hole. The code setting method includes the steps that the digit of a code is set on the basis of the rule and the number of the mechanical coded sheets and the mechanical coded sheets are moved so that the code can be set. The mechanical coded lock has the beneficial effects that the mechanical coded lock is simple in design, convenient to use and wide in use range; and the complexity of the code is determined through the number of the mechanical coded sheets, so that safety is greatly improved.
