The invention provides a wall surface decorative material and a preparation method thereof. The wall surface decorative material includes following components, by weight, 30-70 parts of cement, 40-80 parts of quartz, 0.1-0.5 parts of ferrite yellow, 0.05-0.10 parts of iron black, 10-30 parts of water, 2-5 parts of rubber powder, 0.1-0.5 parts of B (cellulose), 0.2-1.0 parts of C (wood fiber) and 0.1-0.5 parts of E (PP fiber). The preparation method includes the following steps: adding the cement, the pigments, the rubber powder, the cellulose, the wood fiber and the PP fiber, stirring the components uniformly, adding the quartz and continuously stirring the mixture, and finally adding the water with stirring to obtain the wall surface decorative material. The wall surface decorative material is reasonable in formula, is easy to prepare and can be widely used for decorating an artistic outer wall.
