The invention discloses a production process of light silicon carbide bricks. The production process comprises the steps of preparing raw materials according to a certain proportion and grain diameter, mixing the raw materials to be uniform, then continuing adding 28 parts of soochow clay, 1.5-1.8 parts of SDBS foaming agents, 0.5 part of sodium tripolyphosphate and 8 parts of dextrin, continuing stirring uniformly, and obtaining mixed slurry; pouring the slurry which is prepared ready into a die and shaped up, conducting natural drying, conducting die releasing, and sintering wet blanks which are dried ready in an electric furnace, wherein the exact requirement is that the temperature is raised to 148-1550 DEG C from the room temperature at the speed of 8-10 DEG C/min, the temperature is preserved for three hours, then furnace cooling is conducted, and finished products can be obtained. The light silicon carbide bricks are good in corrosion resistance, long in service life, low in mass and quite good in thermal-shock resistance as well.
