The invention relates to an elbow joint type deformation magnifying device. The elbow joint type deformation magnifying device is connected within a frame composed of structural columns and beams and used for realizing magnification of a displacement and a speed of a damper under wind loads and the action of earthquakes; the device comprises at least a deformation magnifying assembly that comprises joint plates, a damper and a supporting mechanism; the device further comprises lug plates, a cover plate and an anti-instability plate; at least three joint plates are welded and mounted at the joints or on the beams of the frame; one end of the damper and the two ends of the supporting mechanism are movably connected with the three joint plates through the corresponding lug plates, respectively; the other end of the damper is movably connected with the supporting mechanism; the cover plate and the anti-instability plate both are connected to the joint of the damper and the supporting mechanism. Compared with the prior art, the anti-instability plate of the elbow joint type deformation magnifying device has greater bending stiffeners outside the plane of the frame, and is connected with a first support and a second support to effectively constrain the deformation of the device outside the plane and prevent the instability of the device outside the plane.
