A novel portal-frame steel-structural building exterior wall structure comprises wall purlins and a plurality of vertically arranged steel columns. Each steel column is made of an I-beam comprising a web and inner and outer flange plates connected to inner and outer ends of the web, each inner flange plate is parallel to the corresponding outer flange plate, and the parts of each I-beam close to the outer flange plate on two sides of the web are connected with the wall purlins perpendicular to the web of the I-beam. Two ends of each wall purlin are connected to two corresponding wall purlin supports on the adjacent I-beams. The application width of a workshop can be increased by 0.5 m, and application area can be increased by 3% to 6% through the structure and the method.
