An old residential quarter parking facility with an automation function is a two-floor platform provided with parking spaces and greening between a first building and a second building of an old residential quarter. Four vertical slideways are arranged on an arterial road of the old residential quarter and provided with second slide rails and third slide rails. Slide axles in the slideways are connected with the second slide rails via supports and are connected with rope reels on four motors in ground boxes via wire ropes. The first building and the platform are provided with first slide rails in contact with the second slide rails. The slide rails are connected with wheels on a frame and a tray respectively. A cable and the wire ropes on the frame are connected with a cable reel on a fifth motor in a ground box, a fifth rope reel and a sixth rope reel respectively. The third slideway is provided with a first switch, a second switch and a fourth switch, the third slide rails are provided with a third switch, a sensor and second cameras, the frame is provided with a first camera and a third manipulator, the arterial road is provided with a first manipulator and a lifting cover plate, and each parking space is provided with a second manipulator and a mark number. A controller arranged in a control cabinet is connected with the motors, the switches, the cameras, the manipulators, the sensor and the like via wires.
