The invention relates to a vibration isolator, comprising a first carrying base and a second carrying base which are arranged at interval, sliding guiding grooves in concave cambered surfaces respectively arranged on facing surfaces of the first carrying base and the second carrying base, a sliding disk arranged in the sliding guiding groove of the first carrying base in a slidable manner, and a sliding body arranged between the sliding disk and the second carrying base in a slidable manner. The sliding disk is provided with a sliding groove in a concave cambered surface form on the side surface facing the second carrying base direction. An earthquake isolation and reduction method of three concave cambered surface sliding mechanism is formed between the first carrying base and the second carrying base of the vibration isolator, so as to effectively and greatly improve shock insulation speed and shock absorption efficiency by the simplest structure. The vibration isolator solves problems that an existing vibration isolator is too complex in structure or earthquake isolation and reduction efficiency is insufficient.
